जैसे मिटै मोर भ्रम भारी
 कहहु सो कथा नाथ बिस्तारी
जागबलिक बोले मुसुकाई
 तुम्हहि बिदित रघुपति प्रभुताई
राममगत तुम्ह मन क्रम बानी चतुराई तुम्हारि मैं जानी
चाहहु सुनै राम गुन गूढ़ा कीन्हिहु प्रस्न मनहुँ अति मूढ़ा
Sage Bhardwaj clasped the feet and detained the supremely wise saint Yajnavalkya, 

He reverently washed the latter's lotus feet and installed him on a most sacred seat, extolling his fair renown, Bhardwaj spoke in mild and reverent tones, 

A GRAVE DOUBT HAUNTS MY MIND, HOLY SIR,
 
The mystery of Vedas stand revealed to you, 

I am afraid and ashamed to utter the doubt and I lose a great opportunity if I keep it back,

The saints lay down the rule and the Vedas, as well as the Puranas and sages too loudly, proclaimed that pure wisdom cannot dawn in the heart, should one keep anything concealed from one's preceptor,

Remembering this I disclose my folly, dispel it, taking pity on this servant, my lord, The saints as well as the Puranas and the other ancient literature too declare that the potency of the Name Rama is unlimited, 

The immortal shiva, that fountain of joy and storehouse of wisdom and goodness, incessantly repeats it, there are four broad classifications of living beings in the world, such of them as to die in the holy city of Kashi, attain the highest state, 

This too marks the glory of Sri Rama's name, for it is the very name that Shiva mercifully imparts to the dying soul in Kashi, 

I ask you, My Lord,

Who that Rama is,

Pray explain to me,

O storehouse of compassion,

One such Rama is the prince of Ayodhya whose exploits are known to the world that infinite was his sorrow due to the loss of his wife and flying into a rage he slew Ravana in battle

Is it this Very Rama, or someone else,

Whose name the slayer of the demon Tripura, ever repeats, you are the embodiment of truth and omniscient, so ponder well and give me your considered reply,

Tell me in detail, my master, the story whereby my overwhelming perplexity may be overcome, Yjnavlakya smilingly replied, the glory of Sri Rama is already known to you, you are a devote of Sri Rama in thought word and deed, I have come to know your ingenuity, you wish to hear an account of the hidden virtues of Sri Rama,
 
I shall repeat now to the best of my light the dialogue between Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, your gloom will be lifted,

प्रभु जे मुनि परमारथबादी- कहहिं राम कहुँ ब्रह्म अनादी, सेस सारदा बेद पुराना- सकल करहिं रघुपति गुन गाना

तुम्ह पुनि राम राम दिन राती- सादर जपहु अनँग आराती, रामु सो अवध नृपति सुत सोई- की अज अगुन अलखगति कोई

जौं नृप तनय त ब्रह्म किमि नारि बिरहँ मति भोरि, देख चरित महिमा सुनत भ्रमति बुद्धि अति मोरि

जौं अनीह ब्यापक बिभु कोऊ।-कबहु बुझाइ नाथ मोहि सोऊ, अग्य जानि रिस उर जनि धरहू- जेहि बिधि मोह मिटै सोइ करहू

मै बन दीखि राम प्रभुताई- अति भय बिकल न तुम्हहि सुनाई, तदपि मलिन मन बोधु न आवा-सो फलु भली भाँति हम पाव

अजहूँ कछु संसउ मन मोरे- करहु कृपा बिनवउँ कर जोरें, प्रभु तब मोहि बहु भाँति प्रबोधा- नाथ सो समुझि करहु जनि क्रोधा

तब कर अस बिमोह अब नाहीं- रामकथा पर रुचि मन माहीं, कहहु पुनीत राम गुन गाथा- भुजगराज भूषन सुरनाथा

बंदउ पद धरि धरनि सिरु बिनय करउँ कर जोरि-बरनहु रघुबर बिसद जसु श्रुति सिद्धांत निचोरि

अति आरति पूछउँ सुरराया- रघुपति कथा कहहु करि दाया, प्रथम सो कारन कहहु बिचारी- निर्गुन ब्रह्म सगुन बपु धारी

पुनि प्रभु कहहु राम अवतारा- बालचरित पुनि कहहु उदारा, कहहु जथा जानकी बिबाहीं- राज तजा सो दूषन काहीं, बन बसि कीन्हे चरित अपारा- कहहु नाथ जिमि रावन मारा, राज बैठि कीन्हीं बहु लीला- सकल कहहु संकर सुखलीला

बहुरि कहहु करुनायतन कीन्ह जो अचरज राम-प्रजा सहित रघुबंसमनि किमि गवने निज धाम

पुनि प्रभु कहहु सो तत्व बखानी- जेहिं बिग्यान मगन मुनि ग्यानी, भगति ग्यान बिग्यान बिरागा- पुनि सब बरनहु सहित बिभागा

Goddess Parvati_

My Lord, you are all-powerful, all-wise, and blissful,

You are a repository of all arts and virtues and a storehouse of Yoga, wisdom, and dispassion,

Your name is the wish-yielding tree as it were to the suppliant,

O blissful Lord, if you are pleased with me and know me to be your servant then, my master,

Disperse my ignorance by repeating to me the various stories of the Lord of Raghus,

Why should he who has his abode beneath a w wish-yielding tree undergo the suffering born of want,

Bearing this in mind, O Lord, with the crescent on the forehead, dispel the great confusion of my mind,

O Lord, the sages who discourse on the supreme reality speaks Rama as Brahma who has no beginning,

Sesa and Sarada, as well as the Vedas and the Puranas, all sing praises of the lord of Raghus,

You too, subduer of love, reverently repeat the word RAMA night and day,

Is this Rama is the same as the son of the king of Ayodhya or some other unborn, unqualified, and imperceptible being,

IF A KING'S SON, HOW COULD HE BE BRAHMA THAT INFINITE,

IF HE WERE BRAHMA HOW COULD HIS MIND GET UNHINGED BY THE LOSS OF HIS WIFE,

WHEN I SEE HIS ACTS ON THE ONE HAND AND HEAR OF HIS GLORY, ON THE OTHER HAND, MY MIND GETS UTTERLY CONFUSED,

IF, MY LORD, THERE IS ANY OTHER DESIRELESS, ALL-PERVADING, AND ALL-POWERFUL BRAHMA, INSTRUCT ME ABOUT THE SAME,

BE NOT ANGRY AT MY FOLLY BUT TAKE STEPS TO WIPE OUT MY IGNORANCE,

IN THE WOOD IN MY PREVIOUS BIRTH I WITNESSED SRI RAMA'S GLORY, THOUGH I WAS TOO AWE-STRICKEN TO TELL YOU, YET MY MIND WAS SO IMPURE THAT I DID NOT UNDERSTAND AND I REAPED A GOOD RETURN FOR MY FOLLY, SOME DOUBT STILL LINGERS IN MY MIND,

BE GRACIOUS TO ME, I IMPLORE YOU WITH JOINED PALM,

LORD, YOU INSTRUCTED ME THEN IN THE WAYS MORE THAN ONE YET I DID NOT UNDERSTAND,

DO NOT ALLOW THIS THOUGHT TO ANGER YOU,

I HAVE NO SUCH DELUSION NOW

I FIND DEVELOPED IN ME A TASTE FOR HEARING THE STORY OF SRI RAMA,

PLACING MY HEAD ON THE GROUND, I ADORE YOUR FEET AND ENTREAT YOU WITH JOINED PALMS TO RECOUNT THE UNSULLIED GLORY OF THE CHIEF OF RAGHUS, GIVING IN SUBSTANCE THE CONCLUSION OF THE REVEALED TEXTS ON THE SUBJECT,


FIRST TELL ME AFTER A MATURE THOUGHT WHAT MAKES THE UNQUALIFIED BRAHMA ASSUME A QUALIFIED FORM,

THEN RELATE SRI RAMA'S DESCENT AND NEXT HIS CHARMING PASTIME,

HOW HE WEDDED SITA AND THE FAULT FOR WHICH HE HAD TO RENOUNCE HIS FATHER'S KINGDOM LATER ON,

PERFORMED DEEDS WHILE LIVING IN THE FOREST AND HOW HE KILLED RAVANA,

THE MIRACLES WROUGHT BY RAMA

HOW THE JEWEL OF RAGHU'S LINE PROCEEDED TO HIS DIVINE ABODE ALONG WITH HIS SUBJECTS



झूठेउ सत्य जाहि बिनु जानें- जिमि भुजंग बिनु रजु पहिचानें, जेहि जानें जग जाइ हेराई- जागें जथा सपन भ्रम जाई

DUE TO LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SRI RAMA EVEN AS THE UNREAL PASSES FOR REAL, JUST AS IGNORANCE ABOUT A ROPE LEADS US TO MISTAKEN IT FOR A SNAKE,

EVEN SO THE MOMENT WE KNOW HIM THE WORLD OF MATTER VANISHES, JUS AS THE DELUSION OF A DREAM DISAPPERS AS SOON AS WE WAKE UP,

HIM DO I REVERENCE IN THE FORM OF A CHILD,

REPETITION OF WHOSE NAME BRINGS ALL KIND OF SUCCESS WITHIN EASY REACH,

MAY THAT HOME OF BLISS AND BANE OF WOE TAKE COMPASSION ON ME, HE WHOSE SPORTS IN THE CORTYARD OF THE KING DASARATH, AFTER THUS PAYING HOMAGE TO RAMA, THE SLAYER OF THE DEMON TRIPURA JOYFULLY SPOKE IN MALLIFIOUS ACCENTS AS FOLLOW

जथा अनंत राम भगवाना-तथा कथा कीरति गुन नाना----------

सगुनहि अगु नहि नहिं कछु भेदा -गावहिं मुनि पुरान बुध बेदा, अगुन अरुप अलख अज जोई -भगत प्रेम बस सगुन सो होई

There is no difference between qualified Divinity and the unqualified Brahma, so declaire the sages and men of wisdom, the Vedas and Puranas, that which is attributeless and formless, imperceptible and unborn, becomes qualified under the influence of the devotee's love

जो गुन रहित सगुन सोइ कैसें-जलु हिम उपल बिलग नहिं जैसें, जासु नाम भ्रम तिमिर पतंगा- तेहि किमि कहिअ बिमोह प्रसंगा

How can the absolute become qualified_

In the same way as water and the hail stone are non different in substance, infatuation is out of question for him whose very name is like the sun to the darkness of error

राम सच्चिदानंद दिनेसा

नहिं तहँ मोह निसा लवलेसा,

सहज प्रकासरुप भगवाना

नहिं तहँ पुनि बिग्यान बिहाना,

हरष बिषाद ग्यान अग्याना

जीव धर्म अहमिति अभिमाना, 

राम ब्रह्म ब्यापक जग जाना

परमानन्द परेस पुराना

Sri Rama, who is Truth, conscious, and bliss combined, is like a Sun----the night if ignorance cannot subsist in Him even to the smallest degree

Sri Rama is the Lord whose very being is light, there is no dawn of understanding in his case---For the dawn presupposes night and night there is none in the sunlight of Sri Rama,

Joy and grief, knowledge and ignorance, egotism and pride, these are the characteristics of a Jiva that finite being,

Sri Rama is all pervading Brahma,

Sri Rama is supreme bliss personified,

Sri Rama is the highest lord and the most ancient Being, the whole world knows it,

जेहि इमि गावहि बेद बुध जाहि धरहिं मुनि ध्यान-सोइ दसरथ सुत भगत हित कोसलपति भगवान

सादर सुमिरन जे नर करहीं- भव बारिधि गोपद इव तरहीं, राम सो परमातमा भवानी- तहँ भ्रम अति अबिहित तव बानी

अस संसय आनत उर माहीं -ग्यान बिराग सकल गुन जाहीं, राम ब्रह्म चिनमय अबिनासी-सर्ब रहित सब उर पुर बासी

नाथ धरेउ नरतनु केहि हेतू- मोहि समुझाइ कहहु बृषकेतू-हरि गुन नाम अपार कथा रूप अगनित अमित-मैं निज मति अनुसार कहउँ उमा सादर सुनहु

हरि अवतार हेतु जेहि होई-इदमित्थं कहि जाइ न सोई-राम अतर्क्य बुद्धि मन बानी-मत हमार अस सुनहि सयानी

नहिं अनीति नहिं कछु प्रभुताई

सुनहु करहु जो तुम्हहि सोहाई

सोइ सेवक प्रियतम मम सोई

मम अनुसासन मानै जोई

जौं अनीति कछु भाषौं भाई

तौं मोहि बरजहु भय बिसराई

बड़ें भाग मानुष तनु पावा

सुर दुर्लभ सब ग्रंथिन्ह गावा

साधन धाम मोच्छ कर द्वारा

पाइ न जेहिं परलोक सँवारा

सो परत्र दुख पावइ सिर धुनि धुनि पछिताइ

कालहि कर्महि ईस्वरहि मिथ्या दोष लगाइ

एहि तन कर फल बिषय न भाई

स्वर्गउ स्वल्प अंत दुखदाई

नर तनु पाइ बिषयँ मन देहीं

पलटि सुधा ते सठ बिष लेहीं

ताहि कबहुँ भल कहइ न कोई

गुंजा ग्रहइ परस मनि खोई

आकर चारि लच्छ चौरासी

जोनि भ्रमत यह जिव अबिनासी

फिरत सदा माया कर प्रेरा

काल कर्म सुभाव गुन घेरा

कबहुँक करि करुना नर देही

देत ईस बिनु हेतु सनेही

नर तनु भव बारिधि कहुँ बेरो

 सन्मुख मरुत अनुग्रह मेरो

करनधार सदगुर दृढ़ नावा

 दुर्लभ साज सुलभ करि पावा

जो न तरै भव सागर

नर समाज अस पाइ

सो कृत निंदक मंदमति

आत्माहन गति जाइ

जौं परलोक इहाँ सुख चहहू

सुनि मम बचन ह्रृदयँ दृढ़ गहहू

सुलभ सुखद मारग यह भाई

भगति मोरि पुरान श्रुति गाई

ग्यान अगम प्रत्यूह अनेका

साधन कठिन न मन कहुँ टेका

करत कष्ट बहु पावइ कोऊ

भक्ति हीन मोहि प्रिय नहिं सोऊ

भक्ति सुतंत्र सकल सुख खानी

बिनु सतसंग न पावहिं प्रानी

पुन्य पुंज बिनु मिलहिं न संता

सतसंगति संसृति कर अंता

पुन्य एक जग महुँ नहिं दूजा

मन क्रम बचन बिप्र पद पूजा

सानुकूल तेहि पर मुनि देवा

जो तजि कपटु करइ द्विज सेवा

औरउ एक गुपुत मत सबहि कहउँ कर जोरि

संकर भजन बिना नर भगति न पावइ मोरि

कहहु भगति पथ कवन प्रयासा

जोग न मख जप तप उपवासा

सरल सुभाव न मन कुटिलाई

जथा लाभ संतोष सदाई

मोर दास कहाइ नर आसा

करइ तौ कहहु कहा बिस्वासा

बहुत कहउँ का कथा बढ़ाई

एहि आचरन बस्य मैं भाई

सत हरि भजनु जगत सब सपना

गिरिजा संत समागम सम न लाभ कछु आन

निमिष दंड भरि एकउ बारा

बारि मथें घृत होइ बरु सिकता ते बरु तेल

बिनु हरि भजन न भव तरिअ यह सिद्धांत अपेल

बिमल ग्यान जल जब सो नहाई

तब रह राम भगति उर छाई

कलिमल समन दमन मन राम सुजस सुखमूल

सादर सुनहि जे तिन्ह पर राम रहहिं अनुकूल

कठिन काल मल कोस धर्म न ग्यान न जोग जप

परिहरि सकल भरोस रामहि भजहिं ते चतुर नर

जब लेउँ मैं तब बिधि मोही कहा लाभ आगें सुत तोही
परमातमा ब्रह्म नर रूपा होइहि रघुकुल भूषन भूपा
तब मैं हृदयँ बिचारा जोग जग्य ब्रत दान
जा कहुँ करिअ सो पैहउँ धर्म एहि सम आन

A brahman must be respected, though lacking in amiability and virtue, NOT A SUDRA, though possessing a host of virtues and rich in knowledge,

Lord Rama instructed Kabandha in his own cult that cult of devotion and was delighted at heart to see his devotion to his feet, Having regained his original form that of Gandharva by the grace of Sri Rama he bowed his head to the lotus feet of Sri Rama and ascended to heaven,

प्रथमहिं बिप्र { ब्राह्मण }चरन अति प्रीती

At its first, love for the lotus feet of a holy brahman is the path to Sri Rama,

Gnosis is difficult to attain and beset with numerous obstacles, the path is rugged and there is no solid ground for the mind to rest upon, scarcely one attains it after a hard struggle, yet, lacking in devotion, the man fails to win over,

Is it possible to acquire wisdom without dispassion?
Can one attain happiness without devotion to Sri Hari?
Can one find peace without innate content?
Can a boat ever float without water even though you strain every nerve till your last breath?










Eternal Atman that knowledge incarnate
Neither takes birth nor does it die,
Neither cause nor effect to anything
Ancient by nature
Intellect that it possesses is not obtainable through logic or reasoning
Under influence of Maya behaves to the tune of a hidden cause
Tempted by the world of Maya
Though above the horizon of will yet
Jivatma goes to the wombs for assuming bodies for a hidden cause
As the man cast off the worn clothes and puts on others that are new so is the truth of Jivatma
Memory in the vicinity of eternity plays a pivotal role to maintain the spirit of life for beings with individuality
Heaven and other worlds exist as the Earth
And the gateway to them exists in the truth of eternity Jivatma possesses
Those who maintain their Satvik nature attain birth as gods
Those who maintain their truth in Rajas attain birth as a human
Those who failed to maintain the dignity of truth attain birth in lowly species
Embodied soul meets the truth of destiny varyingly
Embodied souls in whichever body they may be can realize that God
But for man, it is the most viable
Just a mild application of self in self with the truth of self may help man to cross the barrier
Death can never be a complete rest yet Jivatma may experience a bit of freedom from the extra mileage of memory
Shadow of the past paused for the time being cause a bit of peace
Visit the other regions is inevitable
Jivatma feels relieved from the ties with the gross body but subtle and sub subtle truth follows the spirit for a long along with the truth of eternity
Demoniac disposition leads to bondage irrespective of the material body
Refuge in the name of Sri Rama could be the cause of cessation of all kinds of bondage


Enemy and ego-based on the truth of envy,
Mostly remains fails unto chapter of discrimination,
Do not act or follow the linage as prescribed by them,
Rather take the course to do the will of the heavenly father,

Killed numberless demons, sanctify even Dandaka Vana
His last resort as a trio in exile was panchvati

Sri Hanuman ji appears to serve the cause of Sri Rama to oblige self,
Swayama Prabha, a great devotee of Sri Rama for ages

His journey to Lanka to give messages to mother Sita and Ravana varyingly, and a message to mankind in broadspectrum,
Sri Rama visited Lanka to eradicate the demons with a hidden message to men,
After killing the Ravana Sri Rama resumed the charge of Ayodhya and serve the cause of being his truth as a King and an entity that mortal,
With his time he starts his journey to his divine abode and paves the path for his devotees to reach at through the path enlightened by him in his lifetime,
